Friday, 11 November 2016 Written by Huw Baines

Leonard Cohen has died aged 82.

The Montreal-born songwriter, poet and novelist released his 14th studio album, ‘You Want It Darker’, to great acclaim last month and penned classic songs including Hallelujah, Suzanne and So Long, Marianne. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2008.

Fans have been placing tributes at Cohen’s home in Montreal, while a memorial will be held in Los Angeles in the near future. “We have lost one of music’s most revered and prolific visionaries,” a statement from representatives read.
