Rhiannon Giddens Sets Up Spring Freedom Highway Tour

Rhiannon Giddens has lined up spring dates for her European Freedom Highway tour.
The lead singer and founding member of country-blues band Carolina Chocolate Drops will head out in mid March for solo dates in Paris, Amsterdam, Brussels, Hamburg and Cologne, plus UK and Ireland shows at London's Union Chapel, the Junction in Cambridge, Edinburgh's Queens Hall and Dublin's Whelan's between March 30 and April 3. Tickets are on sale at 10am on December 9.
The tour shares its name with Giddens' cover of the Staple Singers tune, from her new album, which is expected early next year.
