Yasiin Bey, fka Mos Def, has announced two new albums.
According to Okayplayer the rapper, who earlier in the year announced his retirement, confirmed to WNL Radio that he would be premiering material from two new projects later this month.
“I will be premiering my new album, 'Negus In Natural Person', and me and Mannie Fresh’s project, which is called 'As Promised', at The Apollo on December 21,” he said, before debuting new music via the station.
The news follows the announcement that Bey and producer Ferrari Sheppard had joined forces for a new album, 'Dec 99th', which is due for release exclusively via Tidal on December 9. It will feature the previously posted tracks N.A.W, Local Time and Seaside Panic Room.
Sheppard also confirmed Bey's new projects to Okayplayer: "[Bey]will perform Negus and Mannie, some songs from the albums at least. No release date for the albums. They are complete.”
Bey will play two rescheduled shows in January at the O2 Forum Kentish Town in London.
