Tom Williams Shares New Single Everyone Needs A Home

Wednesday, 08 February 2017 Written by Laura Johnson

Tom Williams has shared a new single, Everyone Needs a Home.

The track, which was premiered by Steve Lamacq on BBC 6 Music last night, is the first to be taken from his forthcoming fifth album, which will arrive later this year via Caroline International.

Discussing the track, Williams said:

“The full horror of the refugee crisis was fully unfolded on all our screens. Friends of mine who run the charity, 'The Worldwide Tribe' were in 'The Jungle' handing out food, clothing and supplies. We were moving house ourselves and I was in a back room surrounded by boxes piled high all around me.

The words are simultaneously aggressive but also defeatist. The song is plea for more, 'We' and less, 'Me'.”

Williams will appear at Are You Listening? festival in Reading on April 22.
