Lee Bains III and the Glory Fires have announced a run of UK shows and shared a new song.

Whitewash is set to feature on the band’s new LP, 'Youth Detention (Nail My Feet Down To The South Side Of Town)', which will arrive on June 30 through Don Giovanni Records. Discussing the track, Bains said:

“Inspired largely by reading Ta-Nehisi Coates, Kiese Laymon, Edward Said, James Agee, and Neal Bowers, this song is a reflection on and exploration of how white-supremacy and the notion of whiteness itself have driven nationalism, imperialism, land theft, displacement, disenfranchisement, the exploitation of workers, and cultural, ethnic, regional, and religious erasure in my place and time."

Bains and band, meanwhile, will play dates in London, Glasgow, Newcastle, Cardiff and Brighton following a stop at Greenbelt Festival in Kettering this summer.
