David West has announced a new album.

'Cherry On Willow', the follow up to last year's 'Peace or Love', will arrive on August 20 through Tough Love Records.

The LP is set to be released under the David West with Teardrops moniker due to it being "a more collaborative affair" featuring Bob Jones of Eaters, Louis Hooper of Rat Columns, Raven Mahon of Grass Widow, and Mikey Young, who also produced and mixed it.

Listen to the album's first single, Swan's Beat, below. Speaking about it, West said:

"Swan's Beat had quite a convoluted trans-continental evolution, it was a real family affair. The main riff and beat came out of a spontaneous late night jam with the NYC-based Rat Columns drummer Dylan, and Griffin Harrison played the beat on the recording in New York. The rest of the song was composed on a summer's day in Guildford, Western Australia, with Louis Hooper (also in Rat Columns) adding percussion, piano and synthesizer, in his family's garage studio. The bitchin' guitar sound comes courtesy of his dad Alan's fabulous 60's Fender Deluxe amp. The crackin' guitar sound sorta coaxed out some shameless rock'n'roll moves. The vocals were added the night before we mixed the song at Mikey Young's (Total Control) Victorian seaside studio. The song is somewhat a homage to funky minimal rock'n'roll big beat bangers à la 'Big Beat' by Billy Squier and the bangin' hip-hop tracks which were constructed from them, it's a little bit circular. The lyrics are riffing on the underworld ferryman mythos, religion, boarding schools, nature, etc..."
