Death From Above have announced their new album.

'Outrage! Is Now', the follow up to 2014's 'The Physical World', will arrive on September 8 via Last Gang Records/eOne. Head here to check out the previously shared single Freeze Me and below to watch the video for new track Never Swim Alone and check out the record's tracklist and artwork.

Speaking about the album, the band's Sebastien Grainger said:

“We are committed to evolution. This record is the sound of the two us pushing at the walls. We want there to be space, surprises and action!”

“Outrage! Is Now meant to be felt on both a visceral and emotional level. We tried to make something that excites and surprises. Our journey is that of enlightenment and seeking truth. There’s enough fiction and meaningless distractions in the world to make you totally shut off. We hope this record turns you on.”

Jesse F. Keeler, the other half of the duo, also commented:

“We both wanted to see how far we could take our sound as DEATH FROM ABOVE. In a way, that has always been our objective.”

“I hope fans hear the progression. This record is very much the result of the environment and experiences of the last five years. If we didn’t have struggle, life would be really fucking boring. These songs are a anti-boredom manifesto.”

'Outrage! Is Now' tracklist:

  1. Nomad
  2. Freeze Me
  3. Caught Up
  4. Outrage! Is Now
  5. Never Swim Alone
  6. Moonlight
  7. Statues
  8. All I C Is U & Me

No, it’s not a typo. The 1979 is on the scrapheap and Jesse F. Keeler and Sebastien Grainger are sticking with the name Death From Above. Whether James Murphy and DFA Records have anything else to say on the matter is a question for another day, because first we have ‘Outrage! Is Now’ to deal with.

td#right {display:none !important;} A new year brings with it the chance to look ahead after a few weeks of looking back over our shoulders. In musical terms, we can start to think about the artists who’ll capture our attention on summer festival stages, or during opening slots for existing favourites. We can ponder the singles that’ll leap from radio waves or playlists into the fabric of our day-to-day. Here we’ve assembled 10 artists we believe will make 2019 one to remember—some of them are about to release debut records, others are starting to pound the pavement in support of music that deserve time to shine.

Photo: Georgia Rawson There are plenty of music fans out there who would happily hype the battle between pop and rock for the rest of time: the dark side versus the light, Ivan Drago versus Rocky Balboa, John Travolta versus Nicolas Cage, Nicolas Cage versus John Travolta. But then we also have bands like Puppy, who are able to cast that whole argument in the comic light it often deserves.
