Death From Above have announced their new album.

'Outrage! Is Now', the follow up to 2014's 'The Physical World', will arrive on September 8 via Last Gang Records/eOne. Head here to check out the previously shared single Freeze Me and below to watch the video for new track Never Swim Alone and check out the record's tracklist and artwork.

Speaking about the album, the band's Sebastien Grainger said:

“We are committed to evolution. This record is the sound of the two us pushing at the walls. We want there to be space, surprises and action!”

“Outrage! Is Now meant to be felt on both a visceral and emotional level. We tried to make something that excites and surprises. Our journey is that of enlightenment and seeking truth. There’s enough fiction and meaningless distractions in the world to make you totally shut off. We hope this record turns you on.”

Jesse F. Keeler, the other half of the duo, also commented:

“We both wanted to see how far we could take our sound as DEATH FROM ABOVE. In a way, that has always been our objective.”

“I hope fans hear the progression. This record is very much the result of the environment and experiences of the last five years. If we didn’t have struggle, life would be really fucking boring. These songs are a anti-boredom manifesto.”

'Outrage! Is Now' tracklist:

  1. Nomad
  2. Freeze Me
  3. Caught Up
  4. Outrage! Is Now
  5. Never Swim Alone
  6. Moonlight
  7. Statues

No, it’s not a typo. The 1979 is on the scrapheap and Jesse F. Keeler and Sebastien Grainger are sticking with the name Death From Above. Whether James Murphy and DFA Records have anything else to say on the matter is a question for another day, because first we have ‘Outrage! Is Now’ to deal with.

The Best Of The Fests: Stereoboard's Summer Festival Guide
Thu 23 May 2019
td#right {display:none !important;} SUMMER. IS. FINALLY. HERE. Festival season is now upon us: the bumbags have been fished from the back of the wardrobe, the wellies have been scrubbed clean of two year’s worth of forgotten Glastonbury mud and you’ve stocked up on various colours of glitter from the craft shop. You discerning music fanatics now have an important choice to make: “Which festivals should you go to?” Stereoboard know your pain. Every year we’re faced with the same dilemma, and with the UK festival scene growing faster than you can count your ever-growing collection of wristbands, it’s never been harder to decide. If only there were some sort of guide to help you through… Here we are then. The best of the fests, organised by where you might be in the country. Because you’re never too far from a weekend of music and merriment. Let’s get started then, shall we?

Every festival season brings with it the same hopes and fears. Most of them are toilet-related, naturally, but the optimists among us are always chasing that era-defining high. A great set in perfect surroundings with the correct lubricants (or none at all) can be transcendental, fuelling years of pub reminiscing and I-was-there-whens.
