The track is cut from his new album, 'Devolver', which will arrive on October 27 through Big Scary Monsters and follow up 2013's 'Muscle Memory'. The video, meanwhile, was directed by by Richard Oakes at Darkfable Media.
Speaking about the song, he said:
"Hardbeat is one of if not my favourite track from the new album, and (album producer) Space and I were very excited when we were putting it together. It's miles apart from anything I've done before, and after three pretty hard-rocking singles I'm psyched to put something out which pushes the more electronic and dance-able elements to the forefront. Lyrically it addresses a theme that has been developing for a while but really came into focus during my last tour, which is forming personal relationships with people I've never met through the music. As I go on my songs and my lyrics get more and more honest and intimate and this is about that - how what you're getting on the record is eleven little pieces of me."
The former Reuben frontman will follow up the record's release with a one off London festival. He will curate two stages across the Boston Music Rooms and the Dome in Tufnell Park on November 11.
In addition to Lenman, the line up for Lenmania includes Employed To Serve, Bad Sign, St Pierre Snake Invasion, Broker, Palm Reader, Fizzy Blood, In Dynamics and Hannah Lou Clark.
