Former Marilyn Manson Guitarist And Founding Member Scott Putesky Dies Aged 49

Monday, 23 October 2017 Written by Laura Johnson

Scott Mitchell Putesky has died aged 49.

Putesky, who was also known as Daisy Berkowitz, was diagnosed with stage four colon cancer in August 2013 and started a Go Fund Me page to fund his medical expenses.

He was the co-founder and lead guitarist of Marilyn Manson, playing with the band on their early releases, including 'Portrait Of An American Family ', 'Smells Like Children' and 'Antichrist Superstar', though as he walked out halfway through recording the latter in 1996 he is only credited for six songs on the record. Following his departure he continued to record music under different monikers, including Daisy Berkowitz and The Daisy Kids.

The news of his passing was made public by Jack Off Jill, with whom he toured and played on their 'Covetous Creature' EP. Marilyn Manson also paid tribute with an Instragram post.
