Monday, 12 February 2018 Written by Huw Baines

Mr. Big drummer Pat Torpey has died aged 64.

The sticksman was a founding member of the rock band and played on each of their nine albums. In 2014, he announced that he was living with Parkinson’s disease, with Matt Starr stepping in to record the majority of drum tracks on the band’s 2017 LP, ‘Defying Gravity’.

In a statement, the band confirmed that Torpey’s death was due to complications relating to Parkinson’s.

With breaking hearts we tell you that our brother, friend, drummer and founding member, Pat, passed away Wednesday, February 7 from complications of Parkinson’s disease. Family, band and management request privacy at this very difficult time. Services are pending.
