The Membranes, Evil Blizzard, The Surfing Magazines Among New Names For Long Division Festival

The Membranes, Evil Blizzard and the Surfing Magazines, featuring members of Slow Club and the Wave Pictures, are among the new acts confirmed for Long Division.
Also joining the bill are Wiyaala, Fizzy Blood, Life and ZoZo. They wil play alongside the previously announced Billy Bragg, King Creosote, Charlotte Hatherly, Cud, the Lovely Eggs, Helen Marnie (Ladytron), Shatner’s Bassoon, Mush, Cattle & Cane, Galaxians, Drahla, Mi Mye, Team Picture, Adore // Repel, Glass Mountain, Cape Cub, Peaness, Esper Scout, the Fire Harvest, Loux, Radidas, the Golden Age Of TV, Napoleon IIIrd, Crake, Simon Widdop, Colour Of Spring, the Tidy Wives and Loz Campbell. Speaking about performing at the festival with a choir, the Membranes’ John Robb said:
“Membranes are looking forward to returning to Long Division this time with their choir to play songs from their upcoming autumn released album that turns its attention to the beauty and violence and voluptuous essence of nature."
Following its fallow year in 2017, Long Division will expand to a three day event between June 1 and 3. It will host a broader programme of free entry and paid events at venues across the city, including Wakefield Cathedral, Warehouse 23, Wakefield Town Hall, Elizabethan Gallery, The Red Shed, Wakefield Beer Exchange, Jolly Boys' Tap, Neon Workshops and Wakefield Precinct.
