Vennart Announces New Album 'To Cure A Blizzard Upon A Plastic Sea' And UK Tour

Vennart will release a new album and tour the UK this autumn.
He will put out 'To Cure A Blizzard Upon A Plastic Sea' on September 14 through his own label, Medium Format. It will follow up his 2015 debut solo LP, 'The Demon Joke'.
The ex-Oceansize frontman and current Biffy Clyro touring guitarist will support the record with a headline UK tour, calling in Birmingham, Bristol, London, Manchester, Glasgow and Newcastle between November 19 and 25. Tickets go on sale at 10am on June 13.
Speaking about the album, he said:
"It’s about Mindfulness, Madness and Magic. The bulk of the ideas of the record came from a pretty rubbish Japanese toy from the 70s called an Omnichord. The sound of it isn’t really interesting, but it coughed out the chord sequences of my dreams, taking my songwriting to places there’s no way I could’ve ever done so alone. Some of the words and the grooves are in homage to my love of my adopted home of Manchester. One of the songs has a definite baggy vibe, albeit one through a filter of someone who loves Iron Maiden."

Vennart will also appear at this year's ArcTanGent festival, prior to which he has lined up headline shows in Leeds and Aldershot on August 15 and 16 respectively.
