Parquet Courts Offshoot Maxband Release First Track From New Album 'Perfect Strangers'

Monday, 30 July 2018 Written by Huw Baines

Maxband, a new project fronted by Parquet Courts drummer Max Savage, have announced their debut LP and shared a new song.

Recorded double quick at their soon-to-be-closed practice room on a four track and handheld Tascam, ‘Perfect Strangers' will get a digital and cassette release on August 24. “Some of the songs are about many things; others are about nothing at all,” runs the accompanying blurb.

The first track to emerge is called Means To An End. It’s a gritty slice of New York rock that rides in on hammered power chords before heading somewhere a little more esoteric with its extended jam-style outro. Check it out below following its premiere over at Stereogum.
