Aphex Twin has finally confirmed the details of his new EP.
'Collapse' will arrive on September 14 through Warp Records. The news follows a string of teasers, including the appearance of the producer's logo in numerous locations in late July and a contorted Twitter post from the label. The record will follow up his 2016 'Cheetah' EP, while his most recent LP was 2014's 'Syro'.
T69 Collapse is the first track to be shared from the EP and is accompanied by a video from Weirdcore, which arrives with a warning of strobes that mimic the song's frantic, skittering beats. It works to put the listener off balance, moving from beefed up synth lines that recall John Carpenter's horror scores to a skin-crawling, disorienting breakdown and back again.
