Blood Youth Return With New Single Starve Ahead Of Reading And Leeds Appearances

Tuesday, 21 August 2018 Written by Jon Stickler

Blood Youth are back with a new single, just ahead of their sets this coming weekend at Reading and Leeds.

Starve marks the hardcore quintet's first new material since last year’s 'Beyond Repair' and finds the band at their darkest, diving deep into the despair of emotional and physical pain. Discussing the track, frontman Kaya Tarsus said:

"Life isn't always a fairy tale and you can end up trapped in a very unhealthy mindset. I wrote the lyrics when I was going through a bad time and it felt like I was in a nightmare. It's a very intense and emotional song, so we really wanted all of this to come out in the video. We wanted people to feel uncomfortable, almost as if they are watching a horror movie."

Shot in their hometown of Harrogate, the band brought on board local Leeds based director Adam Webb for the track's accompanying visual. Take a look below.

In October they head out on the road with Japanese electrocore mob Crossfaith, with stops planned in Bristol, Glasgow, Nottingham, Manchester and London, where they'll play Camden's Electric Ballroom. Tickets are on sale now.
