The Who are set to play Wembley Stadium this summer accompanied by an orchestra.
Fresh from unveiling plans to release a 2019 LP, their first album of new songs in 13 years, the legendary British rock band have confirmed they'll take over the massive venue on July 6. Joining vocalist Roger Daltrey and guitairst Pete Townshend on stage will be Simon Townshend, Loren Gold, Jon Button and Zak Starkey.
The band will also bring the Moving On! Tour to North America for two legs, the first during May and June and a second in September and October, with a total of 29 performances confirmed. Commenting on what Who fans can expect on the tour, Townshend stated:
"The Who are touring again in 2019. Roger christened this tour Moving On! I love it. It is what both of us want to do. Move on, with new music, classic Who music, all performed in new and exciting ways. Taking risks, nothing to lose. Looking forward to seeing you all. Are you ready?"
Daltrey added:
"Be aware Who fans! Just because it's The Who with an orchestra, in no way will it compromise the way Pete and I deliver our music. This will be full throttle Who with horns and bells on."
WHO IS SUPPORTING THE WHO AT WEMBLEY STADIUM?
Support will come from Pearl Jam vocalist Eddie Vedder and Leeds' indie giants Kaiser Chiefs, with more acts to be announced.
WHAT'S THE NAME OF THE WHO TOUR?
The band's 2019 tour is titled the Moving On! Tour.
