A Certain Ratio - FAC251, Manchester - July 17th 2010 (Live Review)
Mon 19 Jul 2010
On the 17th July in Factory’s new venue, FAC251 in Manchester something rather special happened. One of Factory's original bands, A Certain Ratio came home. ACR who were one of the many legendary acts which Factory had signed for the company during the late 70’s, played in front of a packed audience, who crammed into the small, intimate venue. We spoke to a guy who had travelled all the way from the States to the North-West venue, just to see the group. Now that is commitment and tells you a little something about ACR. All around there was an atmosphere of excitement and anticipation as the hordes waited for ACR to play their set.
Interview: Factory Records Legends A Certain Ratio
Sat 10 Jul 2010
In the 1970’s Factory Records began revolutionising the way British music was produced and the way artists were managed. The original creation of Tony Wilson and Alan Erasmus, Factory Records soon shaped the Manchester music scene and sowed the seeds for the 90’s Madchester Revolution that followed. The list of acts working under the label are huge and diverse, containing some huge names such as Joy Division, New Order, The Happy Mondays and A Certain Ratio. Factory did not do things the normal way, or the cheap way. Famed for never really making any money, no expense was spared, record sleeves, posters, flyers were all pieces of art in themselves as Peter Saville was given the creative freedom and ultimately the cash needed to produce the artwork that the label was famed for.

Charly Bliss - Young Enough (Album Review)
Fri 17 May 2019
Historically, second albums have been something of a stumbling block. So much so, in fact, that any real failings can usually be chalked up to a dog-eared stack of problems: truncated timeframes, outside pressure, road-weariness, the desire to try something too different too soon. Equally, brushing these problems off and declaring ‘not these guys!’ is one of the easiest, laziest critical tricks in the book.
