Shura Announces London Show, Releases New Single BKLYNLDN

Shura has announced her first live dates of 2019.
The pop singer will head to London’s Roundhouse on November 14, after touching down at the Music Hall of Williamsburg in Brooklyn on October 23. Tickets for the London show go on sale at 10am on Thursday March 14, while the US show goes on sale on March 15.
The new shows follow a new single, BKLYNLDN. Having recently signed with Secretly Canadian, it’s the first cut from her upcoming new album, and discusses the struggles of keeping long distance romantic relationships with a technological spin of phones, apps and screens. Its accompanying video was directed by Fiona Jane Burgess of Woman’s Hour. Shura said:
“With BKLYNLDN I wanted to explore having both a sonic and lyrical evolution. It’s about desire - playing with the idea of it being all consuming and at times overwhelming. It starts with the immediacy of physical desire - 'this isn't love' and yet as the song unfolds that sentiment begins to unravel; I am clearly in love and instead of my girlfriend coming to London, I end up moving Brooklyn. I wanted to capture that reversal and for me that section feels like my summer, skipping through Brooklyn, holding hands with my girlfriend and singing out loud without caring about how stupid you look."
