Dweezil Zappa To Pay Tribute To Father Frank Zappa With Hot Rats Live UK Tour

Tuesday, 23 April 2019 Written by Helen Payne

Dweezil Zappa, son of the iconic musician, composer, activist and filmmaker Frank Zappa, has announced a UK tour.

The rock guitarist will take his Hot Rats Live Plus Other Hot Stuff 1969 Tour around the country between December 4 and 11, landing in London, Manchester, Southampton, Oxford, Glasgow, Leeds and Birmingham. Tickets go on sale at 10am on April 26.

The shows will pay tribute to his late father, who died in 1993, by playing the 1969 album ‘Hot Rats’ in full. Zappa Junior said of the shows:

“We have always enjoyed presenting Frank’s music to audiences in the UK. This tour gives us the opportunity to perform ‘Hot Rats’ as well as other material from his huge body of work that is still as alive and relevant today as it was when it was composed.”

His latest album was 'Confessions Of A Deprived Youth (Deep Fried Youth)', which arrived last year.
