Shura has announced her second album.

The follow up to 2016's 'Nothing's Real' is called ‘forevher’ and is due for release on August 16. It will include her previously released single BKLYNLDN and new single Relilgion (U Can Lay Your Hands On Me).

The latter is an electro-pop number that lyrically utilises religious phraseology to tell a tale of desire. Check out the video below, which was directed by Chloe Wallace and features dancing nuns.

Discussing the record's artwork, which reworks Rodin’s The Kiss, Shura said:

“I wanted to create something that people could look at, in the way that you look at The Kiss, and think: I recognise that. Or I want that, or I crave that, or I miss that. I wanted to make something that was specific to my experience of being a queer woman that anyone of any gender or sexuality could look at and think ‘yeah, I understand’ or ‘that’s beautiful.’ Because that’s all love is.”

The singer, songwriter and producer will support her new record with a North American tour during September and October and a European tour in November, including dates in London, Dublin, Glasgow and Manchester. Tickets are on sale now.

Prior to this, she will play London on June 19 and Bristol on June 27. Tickets for the former are £5 and available on the door only, whereas the latter are on sale now, priced from £11.20 including fees. The shows will act as a warm up for her set on June 29 at Glastonbury on the John Peel Stage.
