Eva Bartok Announce Debut EP, Share Insane Video For Chess Club

Friday, 14 June 2019 Written by Helen Payne

Eva Bartok have announced their debut EP.

The South Wales-based punk and noise band’s self-titled effort will be released on August 23, comprised of four urgent tracks, coming in at just under 10 minutes. It was recorded at Cardiff's Corner House Studios with Liam Ross, with production by Fudge Wilson of Exit_International and mixing courtesy of Kurtis Bagley of Luna Crown Audio.

The first cut, Chess Club, arrives accompanied by an insane video featuring a man in a horse mask doing an absurd amount of drugs, roaming the streets drunk, and generally causing absolute havoc before returning to his family home with an almighty hangover.

Vocalist and guitarist Chris Hampson said:

"A lot of the songs are about what's affecting so many people in our society; mental health being a huge discussion, because that's a really big part of my life and music is one of the only things that has stopped me losing my mind. We also feel very strongly about equal rights. Whether feminism, trans rights, gays rights etc. I love the idea of our band being able to stand up for people.”
