Queen Zee Announce Split

Monday, 07 October 2019 Written by Laura Johnson

Queen Zee are calling it a day.

The Liverpool punks, who released their self-titled debut album earlier this year, broke the news with a statement via social media.

The band have been together since 2016 and, among others, have received support from Iggy Pop, who brought up Queen Zee at the recent GQ awards when asked who he believed the "next Iggy Pop" was. They also made a name for themselves with their relentless touring and riotous live show.

As a parting gift, you can stream some of the band's early demos and b-sides for free via their Bandcamp page here.

Blink-182’s blend of juvenilia and earnest emoting has long been a high-wire act: one slip and the sense of balance is gone. But, given that they survived situating a song like Stay Together For The Kids at the heart of an album called ‘Take Off Your Pants and Jacket’, it’s one that they might boast to have mastered.
