Patti Smith and her band will play in Australia and New Zealand in April.
The punk icon, who has already been announced as a headliner for next year's Byron Bay Bluesfest, will perform two shows at both Sydney's Enmore Theatre and the Forum in Melbourne, following which she'll head to Christchurch and Auckland. Smith was last in Australia in 2017. She said:
"I really didn’t expect to be coming back, but it was just such a great trip. I really thought that I wouldn’t be able to come back – so I’m delighted that I was wrong."
Tickets for the new dates go on general sale beginning at 10am on October 28.
Smith released her latest book, Year Of The Monkey, in September. Her latest musical project, meanwhile, is the 'Mummer Love' collaborative album with Soundwalk Collective, due out on November 8.
