Standon Calling 2020 Cancelled Due To COVID-19

Thursday, 07 May 2020 Written by Helen Payne

Standon Calling has been cancelled.

The Hertfordshire festival was due to celebrate its 15th year in July with a host of big names in music, comedy, special performances and surprise guests. It will now take place between July 22 and 25, 2021. In a statement, organisers said:

"We are heartbroken to announce that due to the impact of Covid-19, the 15th anniversary of Standon Calling will no longer be taking place in 2020. As communicated in April, we have been exploring multiple options, however it has become clear that hosting the festival this year will not be possible."

They added: "We are incredibly sad that this will be the first year since we started out that the festival will not go ahead, but this is the right decision for all of us - our audience, our staff, our local community, our artists and the emergency services.

"I can promise you that we are already relishing the challenge to deliver The Party of All Time [in 2021] and then some... after all of this is behind us we are going to need it!"

Tickets will automatically roll over to next year's event. The 2020 edition was due to be headlined by Hot Chip (pictured) and Primal Scream, while acts including Craig David, Sister Sledge, Ella Eyre, Everything Everything, Kojey Radical and Sophie Ellis-Bextor were also set to appear.
