Frank Turner Pays Tribute To Late Scott Hutchison With New Track A Wave Across A Bay

Frank Turner has released new track.
A Wave Across A Bay finds the punk-folk singer-songwriter paying tribute to his friend Scott Hutchison of Frightened Rabbit, who died in May 2018 aged 36, and contemplating the late artist's final moments.
"There must have been a moment, just before you hit the water, When you were filled with a sense of peace and understanding," sings Turner. In a statement, he said:
"I still miss my friend Scott every day. His passing left such a huge hole in so many lives. I wrote this song in his honour and memory, it was hard to write and record, but I think it does the man some small justice."
The powerful, emotionally candid track — which arrives with the blessing of Scott's younger brother Grant Hutchison — will appear on Turner's new album, 'FTHC', which is due to arrive on February 11 via Xtra Mile Recordings/Polydor.
It will also be released as a 7" single backed with a cover of Frightened Rabbit's Modern Leper that was recorded with Scott during an Xtra Mile/OB1 session in May 2017. Photos of Turner and Hutchison together will feature on the record's packaging.

Turner will support the upcoming record with The Never Ending Tour Of Everywhere with his band The Sleeping Souls that kicks off later this month and runs until the end of February. He also has Irish dates in the diary for April. Tickets are on sale now.
