ZZ Top Set July Release For New Live Album 'Raw', Confirm Summer US Tour

ZZ Top have announced a new live album.
The 11-track 'Raw' will arrive on July 22 via Shelter Records/BMG, and was recorded for the blues-rock trio's 2019 Sam Dunn-directed Netflix documentary, That Little Ol' Band From Texas.
In the film, the band’s classic line-up of guitarist Billy Gibbons, drummer Frank Beard and late bassist Dusty Hill (who sadly died in 2021) perform an intimate career-spanning set at the historic Gruene Hall in New Braunfels, Texas.
Hits on the release include La Grange, Tush, and Gimme All Your Lovin', along with deep cuts like Brown Sugar and Certified Blues. In the record's liner notes, Gibbons and Bears revealed:
"It was, in a very real way, a return to our roots. Just us and the music, no audience of thousands, no concession stands, no parking lot social hour, no phalanx of tour busses. Just us and the music.
"We knew right then it was a very special circumstance, all of us in the same place at the same time and what a time it most certainly was!
"It was as bare bones as when we first started touring in a behemoth Chrysler station wagon, driving vast stretches between those early far-flung shows under blackened Texas skies and first hearing our records on the radio. We were bonded as brothers."
In a touching note to Hill, it continues: "'The Dust' may have left the building but he’s still very much with us."
To accompany the news, the band have announced they'll embark on the Raw Whisky Tour of the US this summer. Tickets go on general sale at 10am local time on March 11, though their Boston performance goes on sale at 10am on March 18.
