Pet Shop Boys Announce Noel Gallagher Remix On Upcoming 'Council Skies' Album

Pet Shop Boys have revealed that they have collaborated with Noel Gallagher.
The synth-pop duo have teamed up with the former Oasis co-songwriter for a remix of one of his new songs, with the revamp set to appear on his upcoming album with his band High Flying Birds, 'Council Skies'.
Speaking to students at Cambridge University, Neil Tennant said: "We have just remixed Noel Gallagher." He added, "all collaborations are interesting. I would like more good singers to sing more of our songs, as I think they have great potential. As you get older you learn how music works. In the beginning, you don’t really know, but now I think we know a little bit."
Revealing that they would be open to more team-ups, Tennant commented: "I wouldn't say no. Who knows? Ed Sheeran might suddenly come up with something. Like, if he approached us about it and had something in mind that might work. So we might do it. We won’t do ‘being cool’ and Ed Sheeran certainly isn’t 'cool'."
"We have never really cared about doing 'cool' music. It is really about euphoric pop music. Never say never."
The guitarist is set to release his fourth solo studio album on June 2 via the Sour Mash label, while the deluxe edition will feature live session recordings and remixes, including the Pet Shop Boys collaboration and a remix of the track Pretty Boy by The Cure's Robert Smith.
Noel Gallagher has a number of UK shows scheduled for the summer, along with a newly announced co-headline North American tour with Garbage. Tickets go on general sale at 10am local time on February 17.
Pet Shop Boys, meanwhile, will publish the 2023 edition of their Annually book on April 14, which will include an exclusive CD EP, 'Lost', featuring four songs recorded in 2015 during the sessions for the duo's 'Super' LP. The pair will take their Dreamworld Greatest Hits Tour across the UK, Ireland and Europe in June.
