Baxter Dury has announced his seventh studio album.

The follow-up to 2020's 'The Night Chancers' is called 'I Thought I Was Better Than You' and will arrive on June 2 via Heavenly. Co-produced by Dury and Paul White, it features contributions with Eska and JGrrey, along with long-time collaborator Madeline Hart.

Alongside the news, the musician has shared the first single from the record, Aylesbury Boy, a gritty, percussion-driven, funk-infused track featuring JGrrey, and regular vocalist Hart. It marks Dury's first single since his D.O.A. track in October 2021, and comes paired with a video directed by Noel Paul.

Dury said of the new song: "This song is about coming from one place and arriving at another without fitting in to either, and I think of these people like characters from Studio Ghibli’s Spirited Away."

The 51-year-old will support Pulp at shows in London, Manchester and Cardiff this summer, as well as an appearance at Kite Festival in Oxfordshire. He also has European dates scheduled, along with a UK tour in October. Tickets go on general sale at 10am on March 10.
