Foo Fighters' Chris Shiflett Shares New Song Dead And Gone

Thursday, 27 April 2023 Written by Jon Stickler

Foo Fighters guitarist Chris Shiflett has shared a new song called Dead And Gone.

A little bit country and a little bit rock'n'roll, the track was penned in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, and serves as an ode to some friends and local characters of his Santa Barbara hometown. Shiflett commented:

"My hometown was an odd mix of luxury paradise and working-class grit and continues to be a bottomless pit of lyrical inspiration."

Following Black Top White Lines, it marks the second preview of his forthcoming Jaren Johnston-produced LP, due out later in 2023 via Snakefarm in the UK, though further details are still to be confirmed.

Shiflett has also been announced for Nashville's Americanafest, which takes place in September. Head here for details.
