The Smile Share First New Song Of 2023 Bending Hectic

The Smile — Radiohead members Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood with drummer Tom Skinner — have returned with their first new release of 2023.
Recorded at London's famous Abbey Road Studios earlier this year, the eight-minute Bending Hectic was produced by Sam Petts-Davies, and features rich string arrangements by the London Contemporary Orchestra.
Slow-building through gently picked string melodies to reverb-laden rock, the song was initially previewed during the trio's performance at the Montreux Jazz Festival in 2022, though they didn't include it on the accompanying live album, 'The Smile At Montreux Jazz Festival'.
The band are currently working on the follow-up to their 2022 debut LP, 'A Light For Attracting Attention'. They have a run of North American shows in the diary for June and July, which includes a headline appearance at RBC Bluesfest in Ottawa, Canada.
