Suede Cancel December O2 Academy Brixton London Shows, Announce Three Dates At Electric Brixton

Suede have cancelled their upcoming O2 Academy Brixton shows for later this year and announced three new London dates.
The band were set to perform classic hits and material from their 2022 album 'Autofiction' at the venue on December 15 and 16 as part of a short tour this winter, but the two concerts have been pulled due to the ongoing closure of the venue.
The O2 Academy Brixton's licence was suspended earlier in 2023 after two people died following a crowd crush at the door during a show in December 2022.
In an attempt to avoid disappointing fans, the band have announced three smaller performances at Electric Brixton for December 15, 16 and 17, with tickets on general sale at 9am on July 14. Ticket holders for the scrapped dates will have priority in purchasing tickets for the new dates.
Confirming the details, the band issued a statement on social media:
"It is with regret that we have to inform you that the Suede shows at O2 Academy Brixton on Friday 15th and Saturday 16th December are cancelled. Sincere apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.
"Your booking will be refunded in full automatically. You'll see a credit onto the method of payment you used within 5 days.
"In order to minimize disappointment, particularly for those of you that have already planned/paid for travel and accommodation, Suede will be playing THREE smaller shows at The Electric in Brixton on Friday 15th, Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th December.
"All ticket holders for the cancelled O2 Academy Brixton shows will be given first dibs on tickets for the new shows and will be emailed ticket links and a password. Please keep an eye on your emails and especially your junk folders if you think you have not received the relevant email.
"Pre-sale access to the new shows from 9am on Thursday 13th July. Any remaining tickets will be available from 9am Friday 14th July at the general on sale. -SuedeHQ."
Additionally, Suede will play shows at Eastbourne's Winter Gardens, Lincoln's Engine Shed, Portsmouth's Guildhall and Wolverhampton's The Halls in December. As part of their current run of summer festival dates, they'll also appear at Devon's Beautiful Days in mid-August.
As the venue remains closed, the band have cancelled their shows at the O2 Brixton. It's not all bad news though, as they'll now play THREE more intimate dates at @electricbrixton instead!
