Frankie Cosmos have announced their sixth album.

'Different Talking', the follow-up to 2022's 'Inner World Peace', will arrive through Sub Pop on June 27. It was written by primary creative force Greta Kline, with bandmates Alex Bailey, Katie Von Schleicher and Hugo Stanley as collaborators. Kline commented:

"A lot of the album is about being grown up and figuring out how to know yourself – like, ‘What is moving on?’. How do we move on when we’re addicted to a cycle of haunting our own past? Writing songs is just the way through that."

The record is previewed by Vanity, a whimsical track that shifts between Kline's gentle vocals and busier passages of guitar and drums.

"I started writing it one evening while I walked (~6.5 miles) from Tompkins Square Park to Sunset Park, speaking directly to the universe and pleading to be considered by it," explained Kline. "It feels like it encompasses this push and pull between adult and kid, government and governed, planet and blade of grass."

Last October, Frankie Cosmos teamed up with Cavetown, also known as singer-songwriter and producer Robin Skinner, for a collaborative single, Magic 8 Ball. The month before, they collaborated with Australian indie-rock group Good Morning for a new version of Margo Guryan's song Take a Picture, for the compilation 'Like Someone I Know: A Celebration Of Margo Guryan'.
