Queens of the Stone Age have announced a new concert film.
Directed by Thomas Rames, Alive In The Catacombs captures the American rock band's performance with a string section last July in the Catacombs of Paris, where they were surrounded by millions of human remains. "The biggest audience we’ve ever played for," said frontman Josh Homme.
It'll premiere on June 5 via Queens of the Stone Age's official website. Check out the trailer below. Homme continued:
"We’re so stripped down because that place is so stripped down, which makes the music so stripped down, which makes the words so stripped down… It would be ridiculous to try to rock there.
"All those decisions were made by that space. That space dictates everything, it’s in charge. You do what you’re told when you're in there."
Queens Of The Stone Age will play two shows for the Rock N Roll Circus gig series at Sheffield's Don Valley Bowl on August 27 and 28. Support on both dates will come from Viagra Boys, Jehnny Beth, Big Freedia and So Good, following openers Fat Dog and The Bug Club on night one, and Shame, The Murder Capital and Demob Happy on night two.
They'll also headline Portsmouth's Victorious Festival on August 22, following a performance at Dublin's Royal Hospital Kilmainham on August 20, and US shows in June as part of their The End Is Nero Tour. Tickets are on sale now.
The group released their latest album, 'In Times New Roman...', in 2023.
