Amanda Shires has shared another track from her imminent album.
Co-written with keyboardist Peter Levin, Lately blends country balladry with themes of hope and introspection. Shires explained:
"It’s about that in-between place where you’re not okay, but you’re not falling apart either…you’re just wandering, looking for something to hold on to. It’s cinematic but grounded. It’s fighting the blues with more blues and searching the sky for a silver lining."
It offers a third and final glimpse of 'Nobody's Girl' ahead of its release through ATO this Friday (September 26), following the previously unveiled tracks Piece Of Mind and A Way It Goes.
Recorded with producer Lawrence Rothman, the follow-up to 2022’s 'Take It Like A Man' marks the singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist's first album since divorcing country artist and longtime collaborator Jason Isbell. It dives into themes such as heartbreak, loss, finding yourself, and resilience.
Shires will tour North America this fall with Aly and AJ, with a few headline shows scheduled along the way. Head here for details. Tickets are on sale now.
