The Guess Who have announced their first US tour in 23 years, the Takin’ It Back Tour.
Original guitarist Randy Bachman and singer-keyboardist Burton Cummings, who already have a slew of dates across their native Canada in the diary for spring and summer, will kick off the new round of shows on June 25 in Shakopee, Minnesota and wrap up on August 22 in Seattle, Washington.
Other stops include Cincinnati, Chicago, Detroit, Atlantic City, Boston, Atlanta, Houston, Denver, Salt Lake City, Phoenix and Los Angeles. Former Eagles guitarist Don Felder will open on all dates.
Tickets for the new US shows go on general sale at 10am local time on Friday (March 6). Tickets for their previously announced Canadian shows are on sale now, except for Vancouver, ticket details for which are still to be confirmed. Cummings said:
“Randy and I are incredibly grateful that our music has endured all these years. Knowing that people still want to hear these songs live means everything to us, and when we go out on stage, our goal is to truly honour the music.”
Bachman added: “I’m really excited about reuniting with Burton and touring again as The Guess Who. We created an amazing body of work together, along with memories that have lasted for decades, and those songs are still as strong as ever. I can’t wait to sing them with everyone very soon.”
One of the biggest classic rock acts to come out of Canada, the delay in their return was partly due to a trademark dispute with their former bandmates over The Guess Who name, which was resolved in 2024 in favour of Bachman and Cummings.
The band have released 11 studio albums to date, which have all charted in the US and Canada. In a complimentary review, renowned music journalist Lester Bangs once said, “The Guess Who is God.”
