Sparta have announced their sixth album.
'Cut a Silhouette' will arrive via Rude Records/Equal Vision Records on May 29, following their 2022 self-titled LP.
Written over the course of a year in hotel rooms, practice spaces, studios and during soundchecks, the album was produced, engineered and recorded in seven days at Magpie Cage Recording Studio with the legendary J. Robbins. The band's vocalist-guitarist Jim Ward (also a member of At The Drive-In) said:
"This is a love record. I want it to leave an impression, and at this point in my career, that's what I yearn for. I'm working so hard to make something meaningful to me, and I really want people to get a chance to feel it as well."
The El Paso, Texas band have shared the record's first single, Crater, an emotionally-charged post-rock track co-written with Frank Iero of My Chemical Romance and L.S. Dunes. Head below to view the song's accompanying video, directed by Travis Shinn.
The trio, completed by bassist Matt Miller and drummer Neil Hennessy, will support the album with US dates in June supporting Toadies, followed by a run of headline Latin America dates in August, then shows in Austin and Irving in Texas in September supporting Jimmy Eat World on their Bleed American 25th Anniversary Tour.
Since their last album, Sparta also released the new song Fight With Love for the charity compilation 'Music For Everyone Vol. 2', which came out last September and features tracks from L.S. Dunes and Straylight Run.

3. Mouthbreather
