Dry Cleaning Share New Song Sliced By A Fingernail

Dry Cleaning have shared a new song called Sliced By a Fingernail.
Serving up the South London band's signature minimalist post-punk sound, paired with Florence Shaw's deadpan spoken-word delivery, the track follows the release of their third album 'Secret Love' in January. Shaw said of the character in the song:
"A lot of attention makes them feel sliced up. So they fantasise about being hidden inside a huge flower bud and about being anonymous in a crowd at night. The image of a brown mark from a finger nail pressed into a petal inspired some of the lyrics. I thought about peony buds not opening and then browning, and their tightness. The lyrics were also inspired by illustrator Jooyoung Kim’s picture book about a dog who has a long body, called ‘Welcome to My Life’.”
The track arrives ahead of the UK and European leg of Dry Cleaning's Secret Love Tour, which kicks off next week in Berlin, Germany and will be followed by UK and Ireland shows later in the month. The North American leg runs from April 30 to May 22, before the band return to Australia and New Zealand for festival dates and headline shows between May 28 and June 11.
They'll return to Europe in the summer for several festival appearances, including Latitude Festival in Suffolk, and Green Man in Brecon and Rock En Seine in France. Tickets are on sale now.
