Neil Young and his band The Chrome Hearts have announced a new live album.
'as time explodes' was initially released as a limited edition double vinyl for Record Store Day earlier this month, but the album will receive a full release on May 29 via Reprise Records.
Produced by Lou Adler with The Volume Dealers (Young and Niko Bolas), the 13-song album features renditions of tracks from across Young's discography, as well as Silver Eagle, a song from Young and The Chrome Hearts' 2025 album 'Talkin To The Trees'. It was recorded throughout the band's The Love Earth Tour last year.
Earlier this year, the Canadian-American rock veteran abruptly cancelled his entire UK and European tour because, in his own words, he "decided to take a break." He later provided some clarity in a series of fan letters on his website, replying to a fan checking "everything is OK”, Young wrote, "Just needed a break. Listening to my body."
More recently, Young teased a new studio album with The Chrome Hearts called 'Second Song' in a post titled Moon to Moon on the Neil Young Archives website, revealing that he had been recording at Rick Rubin's Shangri-La studio in Malibu.

'as time explodes’ tracklist:
1. Daddy Went Walking
2. Looking Forward
3. Harvest Moon
4. Ohio
5. Name of Love
6. Be The Rain
7. Big Crime
8. Long Walk Home
9. Vampire Blues
10. Cortez The Killer
11. After The Gold Rush
12. Like A Hurricane
13. Silver Eagle
