Getdown Services Announce Second Album 'Massive Champion' And Autumn UK & Ireland Tour

Getdown Services have announced their second album, which they'll support with tour dates later this year.
The Bristol duo will release 'Massive Champion' through Breakfast Records on August 14, following their 2023 debut 'Crisps' and last year's 'Crumbs 2' EP, which followed the 2024 'Crumbs' EP. It will feature last month's single The Radiator.
Performed, produced and mixed by the pair, and mainly written in green rooms and on the road, the album is described as being, "about self-pity and realising that maybe the idea of healing your inner child isn’t nonsense. Musically and lyrically, it’s about us trying to improve ourselves."
Alongside the announcement, Josh Law and Ben Sadler have released an infectious new single, I Can't Die Like That. About it, they said:
"It’s about the feeling of simple things becoming complicated. We thought it was interesting to think about the ways in which something as straightforward as dying can be difficult. It’s also about clinging on to feelings that comfort you but aren’t necessarily healthy.”
The band have also announced their biggest UK and Ireland headline tour to date for the autumn, which includes a performance at London's Roundhouse on December 8. Tickets for all shows go on general sale at 10am on Friday (May 22).
Prior to the tour, Getdown Services will tour Australia and New Zealand over the next couple of weeks before playing the Harry Styles-curated Meltdown Festival at London's Southbank Centre in June.
They'll appear at Bearded Theory, Latitude, Boardmasters and Green Man during the spring and summer, and will support Super Furry Animals and The Courteeners as part of a run of dates across Europe, which includes performances at the Edinburgh Fringe. They've also scheduled two hometown shows at Bristol's Beacon for January 2027. Tickets are on sale now.
