Getdown Services have released a new single, The Radiator.
Serving up a minimalist, repetitive beat and their signature blend of deadpan spoken-word vocals and dancey indie-rock, the song is about "only picking fights that you know you'll win." Josh Law, one half of the Bristol duo, explained:
"It came about because the heating wouldn’t come on once and I thought about when we bang things to make them work. Ben once told me that he used to threaten his PlayStation 1 when games wouldn’t load quick enough. The sense of victory you get when you feel like you’ve physically intimidated an inanimate object into doing what you want is bizarre and pathetic and really funny."
The track arrives with a JJ Jarman-directed video starring Daisy Kennedy and Hannah Mullen, and follows the band's 2025 EP 'Crumbs 2', a follow-up to the previous year's 'Crumbs' EP. They released their debut album, 'Crisps', in 2023.
They've also been announced as one of the first acts for the Harry Styles-curated Meltdown Festival at London's Southbank Centre in June, and have scheduled their biggest headline show yet at Bristol's Beacon for January 16. Tickets are on sale.
