The HU Announce Third Album 'HUN' With New Single Lost Soul Featuring Jonny Hawkins Of Nothing More

The HU have laid out plans for their third album.
The follow-up to 2022's 'Rumble Of Thunder' and is titled 'HUN' and will arrive on July 24 via Better Noise Music. Comprising 11 tracks of Hunnu rock inspired by the stories, history and legends of Mongolia, the album has been in the works for the past couple of years. The HU said:
“We took our time to do this right, and we’re so glad that we’re almost ready to release what we have worked on these past few years. Now, we are also focusing on the performances and working out a brand-new setlist.”
Alongside the announcement, the Mongolian folk-metallers have shared the new single Lost Soul, which delivers their signature Hunnu rock style, blending groove-driven rock with traditional Mongolian instruments and a guest verse from Jonny Hawkins of two-time Grammy-nominated American rockers Nothing More. Vocalist Galaa shared:
"We have been unpacking surprises one by one. Hunnu Rock transcends cultures and, in that respect, we have made 'Lost Soul' with Jonny Hawkins. To not get lost on your journey, keeping your values and making your way through life with the courage to face obstacles - these are the messages we are sending our fans with this song - 'Lost Soul' and on our next album, HUN."
Hawkins added: "I am so excited to team up with a band as committed to their craft as The Hu. It's unlike anything I've done before."
The album will also include the band's previous singles The Men, The Real You and Warrior Chant.
The HU are currently on a co-headline North American tour with Apocalyptica, which continues with a performance in Minnesota tonight (May 20). They'll also support Rob Zombie and Marilyn Manson on the Freaks On Parade US tour this summer.
In the autumn, they'll embark on their headline Warrior Chant Tour across Europe and the UK, featuring support from French Nordic folk group SKÁLD on all dates. The trek will follow a show supporting Iron Maiden at Knebworth Park in the UK on July 11 for the heavy metal legends' huge EddFest event with The Darkness, Airbourne and The Almighty. Tickets for all dates are on sale now.
The HU said: "We want to play bigger venues to present extensive production and bring in some amazing elements of our culture - performing these ideas for our fans. And, as well as our third album, we have some amazing ideas for another album already!"
Since their last album, The HU have also released an instrumental record titled 'The Gereg (Instrumentals)' and a live album, 'The HU Live At Glastonbury', both of which came out in 2024. More recently, they collaborated with Declan de Barra on the track Pray To The Sun, written by Sonya Belousova and Giona Ostinelli for the Japanese manga series One Piece.
