The B-52s and Devo will team up for a co-headline North American tour later this year.
The new wave icons will continue their joint Cosmic De-Evolution Tour across the US and Canada this fall, kicking off the new run on September 17 at Tinley Park, Illinois before heading to Grand Rapids, Shakopee, Ridgefield, Seattle, Vancouver and Chula Vista, then wrapping up on October 31 in Palm Desert, California. Support will come from DJ Cummerbund.
Prior to the new dates, The B-52s have European shows scheduled in Berlin, Utrecht and Tilloloy this week, followed by a performance in Freehold, New Jersey for the ParkStage Summer Concert Series on July 11, and a show at Thunder Valley Casino Resort in Lincoln, California on August 21.
Devo, meanwhile, will tour the US in August supporting Billy Idol before continuing their Mutate Don't Stagnate Tour with shows in New Orleans, Clearwater, Miami Beach and Orlando later that month.
Tickets for the new fall shows go on general sale at 10am local time on Friday (June 26). Their summer dates are on sale now.
The two bands, who recently brought the tour to London's O2 Arena and Manchester's AO Arena, announced farewell tours in the early 2020s. However, following the positive response to their supposedly final shows, it seems they're not ready for retirement yet.
The B-52s are led by original co-founders Fred Schneider (vocals), Kate Pierson (vocals/keyboards) and Cindy Wilson (vocals), while Devo are fronted by original members Mark Mothersbaugh (vocals/keyboards/guitar), Gerald Casale (vocals/bass/keyboards) and Bob Mothersbaugh (guitar/vocals).
The former's most recent studio album is 2008's 'Funplex', which was followed by several live records. The latter's latest studio record, 2010's 'Something for Everybody', was followed by live albums and the 2024 rarities collection 'Art Devo'.
