William Michael Albert Broad - best known as Billy Idol - is an English punk rock/new wave singer-songwriter and musician hailing from Stanmore, Middlesex. Born in 1955, he first emerged as part of Generation X.
Since then, he’s carved himself a successful solo career and has performed across all four corners of the globe, releasing seven studio albums and earning platinum-discs, high finishes in international charts, and a fanbase that most musicians would kill for.
Best known for tracks like White Wedding, Rebel Yell, Eyes Without a Face, Mony Mony, and Hot in the City amongst others, Idol has been nominated for numerous Grammys, BRITs and MTV Video Awards down the line, and has influenced frontmen for years to come.
In October 2014, Idol made a triumphant return with his eighth studio album ‘Kings & Queens of the Underground’, his first LP since 2006’s ‘Happy Holidays’. As well as the new record, the punk and rock icon hit the UK for gigs in Birmingham, London, and Manchester.
His first UK appearances since his unforgettable performance at Download 2010, where he smashed out an incredible set despite pouring rain, Idol proved he was still at the top of his game. He still has shows in the US lined-up, and in March 2015, he reaches Australia and New Zealand for concerts too.
Billy Idol has announced a trio of UK shows as part of a European tour in 2018. Catch him live by checking out the tour dates and concert ticket information below on Stereoboard.
