Organisers Allay T in the Park Cancellation Fears

Sunday, 09 April 2006 Written by Stereoboard.com
ImageT in the Park organisers have moved swiftly to allay fears that this summers T in the Park festival was about to be cancelled.

Festival goers reportedly "panicked" following reports claiming that the festival was under threat due to avian flu.

A spokeswoman told the Daily Record, "As avian influenza is a disease of birds and not humans, we can confirm that there is no threat of T In The Park being cancelled or moved.

"Any safety measures being put in place by the Scottish Executive related to avian influenza are designed to limit movement of birds and not people in accordance with the EC agreed measures. However, we are closely monitoring the situation."

Artists already confirmed for the festival, taking place at Balado By Kinross in Scotland on July 8-9th, include The Strokes, Arctic Monkeys, Paul weller, Franz Ferdinand, The Who and The Red Hot Chili Peppers.
