Death Cab For Cutie Release New Single Punching The Flowers

Death Cab For Cutie have released a new single, Punching The Flowers.
Delivering a more jagged sound than the softer, melancholic style we've come to expect from them, the guitar-driven track arrives with a Jason Lester-directed video and is the second preview of the Grammy-nominated American band's new album, 'I Built You A Tower'. Guitarist-vocalist Ben Gibbard said:
"Punching The Flowers is a song about stagnation and the feeling of being imprisoned by The Known. And about the damage done when someone ventures deeper into the unknown."
The band introduced the John Congleton-produced album last month, confirming its June 5 release via ANTI- Records and sharing its first single, Riptides.
They'll support it with the previously scheduled North American leg of their I Built You A Tower World Tour this summer, followed by UK and European shows in September and October, and Australian dates in November. Tickets are on sale now.
