U2 song 'One' have been chosen as the 'Nations Favourite Lyric' in a new poll for music TV station VH1. The veteran Irish rockers were chosen for the line 'One life/with each other/sisters, brothers', beating off competition from The Smiths, Nirvana, Bob Marley and Coldplay to the accolade.
The top five were: 1. U2 - 'One' "One life/with each other/sisters, brothers" 2. The Smiths - 'How Soon Is Now' "So you go/and you stand on your own/and you leave on your own/and you go home/and you cry/and you want to die" 3. Nirvana - 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' "I feel stupid and contagious/here we are now, entertain us" 4. Bob Marley - 'Redemption Song' "Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery/none but ourselves can free our minds/have no fear for atomic energy/cause none of them can stop the time" 5.
