The Sunshine Underground Tour Dates & Tickets Announced

Tuesday, 29 September 2009 Written by Saard
ImageGetting bigger and bigger all the time, The Sunshine Underground are threatening to hit a mainstream near you soon. They might have to change their name. The band are noted for not enjoying big gigs but rather smaller, more intimate venues in which they can create a house-party atmosphere. Let’s see how that translates as their venues get progressively larger like an embarrassing public woody. Click here for tickets.

Yes, the slavering Saint Bernards of success are coming over the hill, baying for the four Leeds lads and their doggie neck-barrels are stuffed full of cash. A bit Indie, a bit Other (depends on the song), the Sunshine Underground say they write music because they want to and play it to other people because they want to hear it. Will stardom boost them to new heights or be their undoing? The tension! It’s like a reality music soap opera show.

Actually, sorry to ruin any drama, but it looks like they’ll do ok. They already did the Other Stage at Glastonbury and T in the Park, which didn’t seem to do them any harm (though they did go quiet for a few months afterwards). They have a new EP out in November, the ‘Coming to Save you EP’

The Sunshine Underground will be turning the following big venues into house-parties:

Oct 03 - Room At The Top (R@tt), Bathgate
Oct 16 - The Relentless Garage, London

Feb 01 - Independent, Sunderland
Feb 02 - O2 Academy Newcastle
