Echo And The Bunnymen Confirm Special UK Shows & Tickets

Post-punk heroes Echo And The Bunnymen have announced that they will perform their albums ‘Crocodiles’ and ‘Heaven Up Here’ back-to-back on a new UK tour.

Emerging from Liverpool’s hugely creative post-punk scene, amongst a variety of musicians who they met on the way were The Teardrop Explodes, The Mighty Way! And of course Pete Burns.

Echo And The Bunnymen’s debut album ‘Crocodiles’ brought to light a band who were aware of their rock heritage but also inspired by new ideas from the United States. Establishing themselves as cult heroes, their single album ‘Heaven Up Here’ threw them into the charts. With the album heading for the 're-issue treatment' and the addition of some new material, the band have announced a special new tour.

With a plan to play both ‘Crocodiles’ and ‘Heaven Up Here’ back to back at the special performances, Echo And The Bunnymen have arranged a series of British tour dates. Opening on December 4th, the shows will come to a close with a hometown gig in Liverpool.

Of course, this trip down memory lane is nothing new for Echo And The Bunnymen, they performed their classic album ‘Ocean Rain’ in full during a 2008 tour.

Singer Ian McCulloch gave a typical fiery interview earlier this year, where he said that he wanted to perform the band’s early albums as it would be “"a masterclass for anyone who's ever been in a band that isn't quite as good as the band I'm in."

Echo And The Bunnymen will play the following UK dates:

December 2010

4th O2 Academy, Birmingham
8th O2 Academy, Glasgow
9th O2 Brixton Academy, London
11th Olympia, Liverpool

Tickets are available from 9am on Friday 26th March.
