Fields of the Nephilim are an English goth rock band from Stevenage, Hertfordshire, currently consisting of Carl McCoy, Tony Pettitt, Gav King and Lee Newell.
Formed in 1984, the band released their debut album, ‘Dawnrazor’, in 1987, but it wasn’t until their second self-titled album, which came out in 1988, that the band achieved commercial success, hitting #14 in the UK Albums Chart. Their third album, ‘Elizium’, was released in 1990 also performed well, reaching #22. The band disbanded in 1991, but in the early 2000’s McCoy reformed the band with a new line-up and released two new albums; ‘Fallen’ in 2002, and ‘Mourning Sun’ in 2005.
