Fish is the stage name of Derek William Dick, a Scottish singer-songwriter from Dalkeith, Midlothian, best known for his time as the frontman of neo-prog rock band Marillion.
Starting his music career in 1981, he left Marillion in 1988 and pursued a solo career, releasing his debut ‘Vigil in a Wilderness of Mirrors’ in 1990, which peaked at #5 in the UK Albums Chart. Since then he’s put out ten more records, most recently 2013's ‘Feast of Consequences’. He is set to release his latest album, ‘Weltschmerz’, in November 2017.
He has headlined his own shows and tours across the UK, including a tour in 2015 where he played Marillion’s ‘Misplaced Childhood’ in full. In 2016 he headed out on a tour of the UK in December in celebration of the 30th anniversary of ’Clutching at Straws’.
Fish will continue his support of the 30th anniversary of ’Clutching at Straws’ with more shows in December 2018, additionally followed by a set of new material from his upcoming 'Weltschmerz' record, which is due for release in September.
